APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
APPLICATION METHODS AND OPTIONS: Ready-to-use SHIELD can be applied with spray bottles or other trigger / pump spraying devices, ULV or electrostatic foggers, misting devices, commercial electric sprayers or pressure sprayers, or by dipping or soaking.
BEFORE APPLYING SHIELD:
- All surfaces should be cleaned and free of gross filth, soils, and debris prior to applying SHIELD.
- Before applying SHIELD to fabrics or carpets, test for staining and color-fastness by treating a small, concealed area.
- Prior to fogging food service areas, remove and carefully protect all food products and packaging materials.
- When treating coarser substrates / materials, more product may be required due to absorption.
TO APPLY WITH SPRAY BOTTLE OR OTHER TRIGGER SPRAYING DEVICE: Spray entire target area 4”- 6”s from the surface, making sure the surface is completely covered. Apply and then let stand until dry, or let stand 3 minutes and wipe dry with clean cloth or sponge. If spotting occurs, wipe with moist cloth or sponge.
TO APPLY BY FOGGING: Apply SHIELD by fogging surfaces following the fogger manufacturer's directions for use, making sure the entire target surface is covered. Apply and then let stand until dry, or let stand 3 minutes and wipe dry with clean cloth or sponge. If spotting occurs, wipe with moist cloth or sponge.
TO APPLY WITH COMMERCIAL SPRAYING DEVICE: For commercial application equipment (electric sprayers and pressure sprayers), apply SHIELD following the device manufacturer's directions for use, being sure to completely cover the intended surface, then let stand until dry, or let stand for 3 minutes and wipe dry with clean cloth or sponge. If spotting occurs, wipe with moist cloth or sponge.
TO APPLY BY DIPPING / SOAKING: Use an appropriately sized wash basin or tub for dipping / soaking the item you are treating. Use enough SHIELD to completely submerge item. Completely submerge item in SHIELD for 3 minutes. Remove item and dry. Do not reuse solution after dipping / soaking.
AFTER APPLYING SHIELD:
- Allow treated surfaces to thoroughly dry before operations are resumed.
- Allow treated areas and articles such as clothing to dry before use.
- Remove children and pets from treated areas until dry.
- Dry carpet areas and surfaces before re-entry and dry articles before use. A fan may be used to assist in drying carpet.
- Treated substrates / materials can be dried at room temperature or at temperatures up to a maximum of 160°C, for example in a clothes dryer. Remove excess liquid before attempting to dry in a clothes dryer.
COVERAGE RATE & FREQUENCY OF APPLICATION
COVERAGE RATE: SHIELD’s Coverage Rate is 1,000 square feet per gallon (250 sq. ft. per quart) when applied with a standard spray bottle, and up to 2,500 square feet per gallon when applied with a properly sized Electrostatic or ULV fogging device.
