SAFE FOR USE ON FOOD CONTACT SURFACES

SHIELD is EPA Registered, USDA Compliant, and FDA Approved for use as an antimicrobial surface protectant on virtually all “Food Contact Surfaces,” which include any and all items or surfaces used in the manufacturing, packaging, preparation, cooking, serving or consumption of food and beverages, in any industrial, commercial, or residential setting.

SHIELDS’s Food Contact Surface registration not only includes glassware, dishware, utensils, cookware, countertops, tables, high-chairs, can-openers, slicers, mixers, blenders, beverage and ice equipment, food processers, coffeemakers, and other typical residential and light commercial food contact items and surfaces; but also those associated with institutional and industrial food product collection and storage equipment such as conveyor systems, piping systems, silos and tanks; short and long term food storage containers; glazing for vitreous china used in plumbing fixtures; and many other types of industrial materials and equipment used for preparing, processing or transporting food and beverage products. Ready-to-use as delivered, and formulated for simple, one-step, “Spray-and-Walk-Away” applications, SHIELD is remarkably easy to apply. And because SHIELD is FDA approved for use on food contact surfaces, EPA registered “Food Surface Safe,” and rated “Category IV” for toxicity, the very lowest toxicity rating any antimicrobial product can be awarded, no gloves, masks, or other Personal Protection Equipment are necessary when using it, and no Precautionary Statements or Hazard Warnings are required on its labels.

Upon application, SHIELD creates an invisible barrier on food contact surfaces that inhibits the growth of microorganisms, and helps prevent the growth and spread of bacteria, including bacteria that causes, staining, discoloration and odors, for up to 3 months.

Additionally, there’s no need to rinse or wipe items or surfaces treated with SHIELD after it’s applied. Simply apply SHIELD to the items you choose by following its Directions for Use, allow the items to air dry, and they’re ready for use. In other words, once applied as directed, you can immediately fill those SHIELD treated glasses with the drink you made in that SHIELD treated blender, and eat off those SHIELD treated dishes, all with complete confidence.

SHIELD also dries fast, leaves no sticky residue, and won’t harm or discolor any surface that water won’t. It’s also waterproof, weatherproof, won’t wash or wear off with normal cleaning or use, and a single application lasts and remains antimicrobially effective for up to 3 months, making it the ideal solution for maintaining antimicrobial control between regular cleanings in residential and commercial kitchens, dining rooms, restaurants, cafeterias, and wherever else food is handled or served.
